These paper prefilters for use in the 12" round vacuum filter press (FPR12RVAC). They are designed for single use, however they can be rinsed and reused a few times. Using prefilters will increase the amount of syrup filtered through the synthetic filter before it clogs with sediment. Some producers will layer multiple prefilters on top of the final filter, with the metal ring between the synthetic filter and the prefilter, and remove them incrementally as filtering slows.
A prefilter is not intended to filter syrup on its own.
